Description

Add WiFi control to the AXA Remote 2.0 electric window motor.

The AXA Remote 2.0 uses either an infra-red remote control for manual control, or a LIN Bus interface for integration with compatible home automation systems. It can be powered batteries, or via an external power source.

This module sits inside the battery compartment and connects to the LIN Bus interface of the controller, giving it a WiFi interface for integration with home automation systems via MQTT.

WiFi devices aren’t practical to run long-term on batteries, so the module is designed to mount inside the battery compartment of the AXA Remote 2.0 where the batteries would normally go. Power is supplied using the external power connecter.

Note: This project is not yet available, because I’ve been experimenting with a couple of different versions and then got distracted by other things! I’ve designed versions for both ESP-01 and ESP-12 modules, and with various power supply options. I’m also skeptical about the safety of using WiFi to control physical access to a house: if someone manages to take remote control of a window motor, they can get into the building.

I’ll get back to this project if people are interested in it.

Would love to buy this. My windows are way up too far for an burglar.

Thanks for all the effort you put in to this.

    Kinds regards

    Marc

  2. Dennis van Velzen

Really nicely designed PCB. when will these be available?

Can I just feed the board 12V and the board feeds the AXA 7.5V ?

    Regards, Dennis

I’m very interested. I use a couple of linbus serial adapters together with a wemos. If I understand this correct this wifi interface is an linbus serial adapter and esp8266 together?
I think this is much easier en looking better. Maybe I can help with testing? I would like to buy some of this modules.

  4. Frans Hardijzer

Looks very good, although I would prefer zwave over wifi for operating devices like Axa remote. However, since neither are available, your product would be a solution. I would need at least 2 of them. Please tell me when they will be available.
    Kind regards, Frans

Is there somekind of arduino IDE examplecode available for this project/device?

  6. Maurice Hoeneveld

Would love to buy a few of them. Burglary is not very likely as the windows are at 8 meters above the ground.
How can we motivate you to build some of them again and sell them?
    Best regards,
    Maurice

  7. Maurice

Would love to purchase 5 of these modules. I have seen multiple solutions to make the AXA Remote 2.0 controlable over WIFI but this for sure is the most elegant solution.

Regarding the security I am not too concerned since all my windows with an AXA Remote are on 8 meters above ground level and too small to let someone through.

I see that for the ESP-12 version options for flashing are available. Raises the question, is any flashing of the modules required to make this work?
Let me know how to purchase this beautiful piece of work.

  8. Jeroen Bezema

Would love to buy 6 of them
